6 Month Barber Program.
This program is for those looking to start their career in the barbering industry, build their confidence and progress their skill set. The Kings Domain Academy cutting principles include dry cutting, natural fall and directional cutting. As you progress through the program, we encourage all students to be creative and develop their cutting skills and confidence, achieved through practical learning.
As you advance through the program, the focus is on building your foundational skill set with advanced techniques, a combination of traditional and modern barbering principles. As you prepare to join this fast growing industry as a leading barber, you will fine tune your skills and prepare to enter this fast growing industry.
This 3-day intense course is an opportunity for hairdressers to upskill and understand traditional and modern barbering techniques and men’s shapes and styles. We’ll also look at shaving faces including process and blade safety. This course is designed to upskill already hairdressers (or barbers) so they can refine their in-salon offering to their male clientele.
Day 1 — Men’s Shapes.
Day 2 — Skin Fading.
Day 3 — Shaving Faces.
Refugee Scholarship Program
The Kings Domain Refugee Scholarship Program provides the opportunity for refugees and asylum seekers to become a fully qualified barber. The successful applicant will receive an all expenses paid six-month barber training at the Kings Domain Academy + Barber Shop in Collingwood. Including at $2,250 tool kit donated by sponsors Turnleys and Excellent edges, at the Kings Domain Academy + Barber Shop in Collingwood.
This program will reduce current barriers to
entry for refugees and asylum seekers within our community. They will finish the six-month course, fully qualified and ready to join the community of barbers. This initiative provides universally applicable job skills and welcomes the successful recipient into the Kings Domain community. Immersed in the barber shop environment they will learn alongside a cohort of other aspiring barbers.
